Natalie Mearns

Cognitive Behavioural Therapist

About

I provide evidence-based treatment for a range of anxiety disorders and depression, using cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). It has been proven to help manage symptoms of generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), low self-esteem (LSE), and low mood and depression. I work in line with National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance to ensure safe and effective practice. I have additional training in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) and compassion-focused therapy (CFT). ACT and CFT can be really helpful in managing long-term health conditions.

I have worked in the NHS Talking Therapies for over 9 years. I have over 6 years of clinical practice, treating the above conditions. I offer a safe and non-judgemental space to help you understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and ways to break out from feeling 'stuck'.
