Natasha Maher
Integrative therapist
Natasha Maher

Natasha Maher is a United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) accredited integrative therapist and supervisor, as well as a group facilitator, couples counsellor and counselling tutor. She has experience of working with a broad range of issues, although she predominantly works with trauma, addiction and relationship difficulties. She explores how early experiences can have an impact on the ‘here and now’, in terms of how we relate to others, and hopes to bring these new insights within the therapeutic relationship.

Natasha offers a gently challenging approach, with the hope of getting to the roots of clients’ struggles. She believes that true healing comes from turning towards the parts of ourselves that we least want to look at, with compassion and understanding.

Position at Priory

Natasha runs an inpatient psychotherapy group at Priory, alongside offering face-to-face and online therapy to inpatients and outpatients.

Alongside training at the Bath Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BCPC), Natasha has been a supervisor for several years, including running medium to large supervision groups. She is also a qualified Level 3 Internal Family Systems (IFS) practitioner.

IFS is a systemic model that allows you to get to know yourself by building a self-to-self relationship that is facilitated by your therapist. The goal of IFS is to develop a deeper understanding of your inner conflicts, as well as insights into the unique motivations of each ‘part’. This is achieved by exploring the goals (of our often unconscious) sub-personalities (parts), with the aim of bringing more harmony and peace within.

Natasha integrates this way of working alongside psychodynamic therapy, shadow work, dream exploration, mindfulness, neuroscience and humanistic approaches. Understanding and making meaning of experiences is at the heart of Natasha’s practice.
