Niamh Maguire

Niamh Maguire joined Priory Group in 2013 as a psychotherapist, specialising in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). She initially started working at Priory Brighton and Hove inpatient and outpatient hospital. In late 2014 Niamh moved to London and helped with the start-up of Priory Wellbeing Centre Fenchurch Street, where she continues to work as a psychotherapist and more recently also in the newly established Priory Wellbeing Centre Harley Street.

Niamh Maguire has been running her own private clinic alongside her other responsibilities in central London via Skype, since 2014. She also has been working as a counselling psychology lecturer in London since 2015.


Niamh Maguire graduated from the University of Wales in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Social Welfare. Niamh had always been interested in psychology and counselling, and following her undergraduate degree she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Integrative Counselling. Following this, she continued her studies and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Finally, Niamh completed a Master of Science in Psychology at the University of East London.

Research interests

Niamh also currently works as peer reviewer for counselling and clinical psychology research papers. 

I am an enthusiastic, proactive and compassionate individual who is passionate about counselling and psychotherapy, and committed to delivering high standards of care to a diverse client group. I have experience working in various organisations within mental health.

I also work with clients using other modalities including schema, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, person-centered and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) therapies. I have a particular interest in working with clients who are experiencing workplace stress, as well as providing coaching to clients who are looking to enhance their performance in the workplace.
