About
Ryan is a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist with extensive experience supporting children, young people, and their families across child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), NHS wellbeing services, and school-based mental health teams. Ryan delivers evidence-based cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) using structured assessments, collaborative formulations, and tailored interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual.
Ryan has particular expertise in treating a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties, including generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), separation anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), tics, specific phobias (including emetophobia and agoraphobia), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, low self-esteem, and challenges with emotion regulation. He is also experienced in adapting CBT for young people with diagnosed or suspected neurodiversity, ensuring therapy remains accessible, flexible, and developmentally appropriate.
Ryan has extensive experience working across education, health, and social care, and practices as a specialist cognitive behavioural therapist within an NHS mental health service. His senior clinical roles have included providing supervision, leading on service development, and offering consultation to schools and multi-agency partners. These experiences have strengthened his ability to work systemically with families, education settings, and wider support networks around young people, to ensure that therapeutic progress is reinforced and understood beyond the therapy room.
