About
Sakina is a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)-accredited integrative psychotherapist who works with adults across a range of mental health settings. She approaches clients’ difficulties with curiosity, compassion and empathy, placing a strong value on building a warm and trusting therapeutic relationship.
She aims to create a safe, non-judgemental space where clients feel supported to explore their experiences and work towards meaningful improvements in their wellbeing and quality of life.
Sakina’s therapeutic approach is primarily informed by cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), alongside dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) skills. She also draws upon elements of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) where appropriate. She works in a flexible and integrative way, tailoring interventions to each client’s individual needs and goals.
She has experience delivering both individual and group therapy in inpatient and outpatient settings, including within eating disorder services. She has worked with a range of difficulties, including eating disorders, anxiety, low mood, life transitions and emotional regulation challenges.
Position at Priory
Originally from India and having lived in the UAE, Sakina works at Priory as a BACP-accredited therapist.
She works as an integrative psychotherapist across the Avanti eating disorder ward and the Cedar therapy team at Priory Hospital Hayes Grove, providing both individual and group therapy.
