Sally Davies

Sally Davies is an integrative therapist and provides 1 to 1 therapy at the Priory outpatient clinic in Stapleton. She incorporates person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT theory in her work, and mindfulness. She likes to build a collaborative, warm relationship with the client and look at the, often unhelpful, patterns and behaviours that affect their present life as a result of past experiences and relationships. She has previously worked in a university student counselling service, an agency for gambling addiction and a charity to support women who self-harm.

Sally did her Diploma in Integrative Counselling at the University of the West of England. She is currently embarking on pre-clinical psychotherapy training at Severnside. Also, recent short training courses in the following:

  • 2019 Eating Disorders
  • 2019 Treating Trauma
  • 2018 The Impact of the Internet: Social Media, Online Gaming and Pornography
  • 2018 OCD in the therapy room

Research interests

  • Sally did her research project on the impact of countertransference on students training as counsellors.

  • English
  • Spanish and French to a basic conversational level

I offer a safe space to look at what is going on in your life. You may wish to make changes around a specific issue or relationship, or to understand yourself better. I bring warmth and curiosity to my work. I have worked with students, pregnant women, mums, men, the elderly, through counselling, volunteering and teaching yoga and meditation. I have lived in Spain, Saudi Arabia and India and used to work in the corporate world in London, including the BBC. All of this helps my understanding of clients. I have a particular interest in working with OCD and health anxiety.
