About

Dance movement psychotherapy uses movement to provide an opportunity for you to work through your emotional difficulties, develop your strengths, and express yourself creatively. At times it can be difficult to put thoughts and feelings into words. In a dance movement psychotherapy group, the therapist will help you to express and communicate using movement. Moving through your feelings can really help you make sense of them. You will also have the opportunity to share in words what you have experienced during the session. Everyone can access this therapy as you only need a body to take part.

Sharon Parkes has experience in working with a range of mental health conditions. Sharon provides a warm, safe and accessible space and her sessions enable clients to fully immerse themselves in to the therapeutic process of moving and communicating with their bodies. Sharon works alongside clients to encourage a path of self-exploration and discovery.
