Shelley Limbrick

Shelley joined Priory in April 2013 as an integrative therapist working with inpatients and outpatients in both group and individual therapy. This includes all areas of mental health within general psychiatry and eating disorders.

  • Working with anger
  • Compassion focused therapy (CFT) – particularly linked to shame
  • Working with sexuality
  • Working creatively during the therapeutic process
  • Using relaxation techniques
  • Working with the inner child
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
  • Working with severe and enduring mental health difficulties
  • Working with eating disorders
  • Application of attachment theory in psychotherapy
  • Working with complicated losses / grief
  • Working with self-harm

I am an integrative therapist who uses a number of approaches and techniques, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to help patients work through their difficulties in a collaborative and compassionate way.

I completed my initial training eighteen years ago and have since worked in a variety of settings, with patients from all backgrounds and am open and flexible in my approach.

I have particular interests in working with those with eating disorders, helping to explore and challenge patterns of unhelpful thinking and behaviours; and with those who are experiencing anxiety.
