About
I am a consultant psychiatrist for older people and general adults, with 32 years of experience in India and the United Kingdom. After completing my graduation in medicine and surgery in 1990 from Gandhi Medical College, India, I gained experience in my own private practice as a GP at Secunderabad, India.
Later I started training in psychiatry in Hyderabad, India in 1993 and obtained the qualification of DPM (diploma in psychiatric medicine) from the Institute of Mental Health in 1995. I since worked as a tutor in psychiatry in Deccan Medical College, Hyderabad, India in 1996.
Along with my psychiatric qualifications, I also have experience in gynaecology & obstetrics as a senior resident at New Delhi India & at Saudi Arabia and also as an assistant professor in Gyn/Obs and civil surgeon in-charge at Community Hospital at Dhone, Kurnool District India from 1995 to 1999, before I relocated to UK in 1999.
There I was trained in psychiatry at North Trent Rotation until 2004, when I obtained my MRCPsych in 2005. I completed my higher training in old age psychiatry at Kent through London Deanery and obtained my CESR (certificate of eligibility for specialist registration) and worked as a locum and substantive consultant psychiatrist in general adult and in old age psychiatry since 2010 onwards, at various places like Haverfordwest, Leeds, Dorset, Aberystywth, Blackpool, Bradford, Gloucestershire, for over 15 years.
I am section 12 approved since 2004, an approved clinician since 2010 and I obtained my FRCPsych qualification from the Royal College of Psychiatrists, London in 2021. I am also a former CESR tutor and a former guardian of safe working hours (2021 to 2023 in Lancashire).
I use an holistic approach and a biopsychosocial model to treat my general adult and elderly patients, who have mental health problems, and my expertise is in Alzheimer’s, vascular, Lewy body, Parkinson’s, pre-senile and other types of dementia, late onset psychosis, hoarding disorders, senile squalor syndrome and other mental disorders in the elderly.
My extra-curricular activities include holding pageant contests for all age groups including the elderly, for their health and fitness, and I am a title holder of Mrs India Classic 2022, Mrs Global Cosmos Platinum 2023, Superwoman 2023 and Ms Royal Birmingham 2024.

I am a visiting consultant at the Priory Bristol Park Clinic and I offer both face-to-face and online appointments.
