About
Tess believes meaningful change begins when people feel genuinely seen, understood and safe enough to explore what is really happening beneath the surface. She brings warmth, compassion and curiosity to her work, helping people understand themselves more deeply, recognise the patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and begin to find healthier ways forward.
Tess works primarily with addiction and compulsive behaviours, alongside the emotional and relational difficulties that so often sit beneath them, including anxiety, low self-esteem, attachment and relationship difficulties, emotional dependency and neurodivergence. She is particularly interested in helping people understand not simply what they are doing, but what a behaviour may have been doing for them - and what they may need in its place.
Her approach is integrative and person-centred, drawing on psychotherapeutic theory alongside practical psychoeducation and approaches to behavioural change. She aims to create a space that feels compassionate and non-judgemental, while also supporting people to take responsibility for the changes they want to make.
For Tess, recovery is about much more than stopping a behaviour. It is about helping someone reconnect with themselves, their relationships and the things that give their life meaning - so that they can move beyond simply coping and begin to build a life they truly want to be part of.
