Tracie Bowerman
Tracie has over 8 years of experience working with individuals suffering from a diverse range of difficulties and severity, from diagnoses on the anxiety spectrum and depression to personality disorders and trauma.
She has worked in charitable organisations and GP surgeries as well as having experience in offering group and individual psychotherapy for outpatients and in patients, since July 2009.
Tracie has a warm and motivating approach to CBT. She supports clients to gain insight into themselves, their relationships with others and encourages clients to gradually grow and strengthen alternative beliefs and behaviours to use when difficulties arise. One of the aims of CBT is for the client to ultimately become their own 'therapist'.
Training
Tracie qualified as an Integrative Counsellor in 2006 and later went on to specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She gained a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT for Severe Mental Health Problems, awarded by Southampton University.
She also holds full accreditation with The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and is registered with the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (UKRCP).
