Dr Vijay Arulnathan is a consultant psychiatrist with 25 years of experience working with people who have mental health problems. He has an accrediation in general adult psychiatry. His clinical work involves the assessment and management of a whole range of psychiatric conditions that affect working age adults. He works in both the NHS and private sector. He works with national organisations such as the Mental Welfare Commission and the Academy of the Medical Royal Colleges of Scotland.

Training
Dr Arulnathan completed his undergraduate medical degree in India. He underwent post-graduate training in India that culminated in a diploma in Psychological Medicine. Following his move to the UK, he completed his basic specialist training in Yorkshire. He became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) in 2006. He later completed his higher specialist training in East of Scotland in General Adult Psychiatry.
