Get effective specialist support

Exam stress can take a real toll on your mental wellbeing, affecting everything from your sleep and concentration to your motivation and confidence. It can leave you feeling anxious, overwhelmed and as though you're facing things alone.

At Priory, we understand the pressures that come with academic life. That’s why we’ve developed a programme of CBT-informed exam stress workshops, designed to help you manage difficult emotions, improve your coping skills, and build long-term resilience during exam periods and beyond.

Our online workshops

Our 2-week programme has been developed for students aged 18+, who are currently struggling with exam stress and looking to improve their mental health and ability to cope with pressure.

The workshops are delivered online via Zoom, making them accessible from wherever you are. They’re designed around proven cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques, helping you to reframe negative thoughts, manage stress and develop healthier habits in response to exam pressure.

Before the group sessions begin, you’ll have a 30-minute one-to-one consultation with a Priory therapist to explore your goals and get the most from the programme.

Exam stress workshop timetable

Our workshops begin on 1 May and take place over 2 weeks, with two 1-hour group sessions each week. Sessions take place on weekdays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, giving you the flexibility to join around your studies. Each session is led by one of Priory’s qualified therapists and is structured around key exam stress topics:

  • Workshop 1 – psychoeducation on anxiety and stress
  • Workshop 2 – grounding techniques
  • Workshop 3 – worry management
  • Workshop 4 – relapse prevention and endings

Please note, our workshops are not suitable for people experiencing severe psychiatric illness, active suicidal thoughts or significant substance misuse. If this applies to you, please get in touch so we can recommend alternative support.

What you’ll gain from our exam stress workshops
