Our approach is shaped around each person we support, and focuses on both abstinence and harm reduction.
At Life Works House, recovery is built through a structured community programme that helps residents develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed for everyday life. The programme brings together:
Life Works House supports people with a wide range of addictions, including alcohol, drugs, gambling, social media, internet, gaming, shopping, exercise, sex, pornography and work addiction. Treatment is available as a 14, 28 or 42-day stay, although this can be longer, if you need it.
As a therapy-led service, Life Works House offers a lower-cost, non-medical alternative to traditional hospital inpatient treatment. The price of treatment is £495 per night, with a 14-day stay costing £6,930.
Our experienced therapeutic team provides personalised care planning at all times throughout your stay. By combining evidence-based therapies with a safe, homely environment, Life Works House supports long-term recovery, helping you manage life’s stresses, stay accountable and reduce the risk of relapse beyond treatment.
We offer free online aftercare to everyone who completes a minimum 14-day residential stay with us. This support is available for 12 months after treatment, helping you stay connected and supported as you move forward in recovery.
As part of aftercare, you’ll have access to a weekly Zoom session where you can share experiences in a safe, supportive environment and continue developing the skills you gained in treatment. You’re welcome to join whenever it’s helpful, with ongoing connection and encouragement beyond your stay at Life Works House.
As well as aftercare, you’ll also have free access to our digital support tool, Recovery 360, when you complete your programme with us. It’s designed to help you stay supported and on track as you continue your recovery.
The programme begins with an initial 3-month plan, with the option to extend this if you wish, providing a flexible way to maintain motivation, structure and accountability beyond residential treatment.
Recovery 360 combines a Bluetooth-enabled breathalyser with a simple tracking app, offering personalised support, real-time feedback and practical tools for everyday life. You can also choose to use a companion app to keep your loved ones involved, while Priory specialists can monitor your progress through a secure clinical dashboard and offer timely guidance when needed.
At Life Works House, therapy underpins every part of our programme. We use a range of evidence-based approaches, carefully selected to help you develop practical coping skills and build the confidence and resilience you need for long-term recovery.
Therapy is shaped around your individual needs, bringing together group sessions, one-to-one support, psychoeducation, creative therapies and innovative techniques. This balanced approach provides personalised support that tackles the challenges of addiction while helping you build the skills to navigate everyday life. Therapies include:
As part of your recovery journey, you’ll also take part in our cutting-edge exposure therapy – designed to help you safely face situations that can trigger cravings, stress or relapse outside of treatment.
Our specialists use immersive VR technology to recreate real-life scenarios in a safe and controlled environment. This can include everyday social settings or high-pressure situations, giving you the chance to practise coping strategies and reduce sensitivity to triggers before you encounter them again in everyday life.
By incorporating realistic exposure into your programme, we help you grow in confidence and feel more prepared to maintain recovery beyond treatment.
We also recognise that improving your overall wellbeing plays a huge part in helping you achieve a full and lasting recovery. That’s why we provide access to a number of wellbeing activities as part of our programme, enabling you to focus on your mind, body and spirit while you’re with us. These include:
Where appropriate, you may also be able to bring your pet with you during treatment. Having a familiar companion by your side can support emotional wellbeing, provide comfort and reassurance, and help maintain a sense of routine and home at what can feel like a challenging time.
All pets are subject to a risk assessment. They can be welcomed at the point of admission provided this doesn’t impact other clients, such as where there are allergies or a fear of animals.
