At Beacon House, recovery is about more than addressing addiction alone. We also focus on supporting your overall wellbeing, helping you reconnect with activities and experiences that can positively support both your mental and physical health.
Alongside therapy, you’ll have access to a range of wellbeing activities designed to help you relax, build confidence and feel more connected to the world around you. These may include:
- Community-based trips and activities
- Relaxation and wellbeing sessions
Where appropriate, you may also be able to bring your pet with you during treatment. Having a familiar companion nearby can provide comfort, emotional support and a reassuring sense of routine during what can often feel like a difficult time.
All pets are subject to an individual risk assessment and can be welcomed at admission where this doesn’t negatively affect others using the service, such as in cases involving allergies or fear of animals.
Living and eating as a community
A key part of the programme is shared living and time spent eating together, helping to build routine, connection and confidence in everyday life. At Beacon House, you’ll be given a food budget and supported to shop, plan and cook meals with other people in the house. You’ll also have opportunities to take part in therapeutic cooking activities, helping you to build and practise essential life skills in a supported way.
