Young people’s mental health support in London
Situated in the affluent borough of Richmond, in London’s South West, Priory Hospital Roehampton's Young People’s Service providing specialist inpatient treatment for young people who are experiencing mental health problems. We are able to provide individually tailored support for young people from the age of 12 to 17, in an age-appropriate environment. Our young people’s inpatient service is situated in a newly refurbished area of the hospital and comprises six single occupancy bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities, along with welcoming and comfortable living areas.
The service has been specifically designed for young people in London who may be exhibiting symptoms of mental health difficulties such as:
- Depression
- Anxiety disorders
- School phobia
- Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Psychosis
- Self-harm
- Emotional difficulties relating to family life
- Emotional difficulties as a result of bullying
We are also able to offer assessments for autistic spectrum disorders (ASDs) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) when these conditions co-occur alongside a primary mental health issue.
Flexible London-based mental health treatment for young people
We are able to treat our young patients using a broad range of established therapeutic techniques. The mental health therapy that is delivered to each young person in our care is personalised according to their unique condition, needs and requirements, as part of an individually tailored treatment experience.

- Life skills workshops
- Art therapy
We also offer a number of wellbeing activities including:
- Pets as therapy (PAT)
- Yoga
- Relaxation techniques
- Gym sessions in our on-site gym
- Visiting workshops which focus on topics such as music, debating and astronomy
- Outreach activities including theatre trips, visits to local parks as well as access to other sites of interest within the nation’s capital
Ideal location for recovery
We are situated near to Richmond Park, London’s largest Royal park, providing acres of relaxing and tranquil grounds. We are also near to many of London’s most remarkable and iconic attractions, including Big Ben, the West End theatre district and Tower Bridge.
We are easily accessible via Heathrow and Gatwick airports and our team is able to support young people, families and carers with transportation, if required.
