Gordon McKee, Labour MP for Glasgow South, visited Priory Hospital Glasgow recently to learn more about the hospital’s specialist mental health, addiction and eating disorder services.
He was welcomed by Hospital Director Sharon Sallens, Medical Director Dr Pradeep Pasupuleti and Sue Harms, Managing Director for Healthcare in Scotland, along with other clinical and operational colleagues.
Rated “Exceptional” by Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS), Priory Hospital Glasgow works in partnership with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to provide acute mental health, addiction and eating disorder treatment for patients across Scotland.

During the visit, Mr McKee toured the hospital, met staff and spoke to patients, including one individual who shared how Priory’s structured addiction programme had been “life-saving” in supporting their recovery and wellbeing.
Discussions focused on Priory’s continued investment in addiction services, the role of lived experience partners in supporting recovery and Priory’s Break the Chain campaign, which raises awareness of the cycle of addiction and promotes routes to recovery.
Ms Sallens said: “We were delighted to welcome Gordon to our hospital and to show him the difference our teams are making every day. Our programmes combine expert clinical treatment with lived experience and community partnership, ensuring that patients receive care that supports their recovery and helps rebuild their lives.”
