Priory launches revolutionary new therapy-led residential addiction service in North London

Page last updated:

Priory has officially opened its first non-medical, residential addiction therapy service, marking a major step in making recovery more affordable and accessible across the UK.

The new service – based at Eden House in Mill Hill, North London – provides structured, evidence-based treatment for people struggling with alcohol, drugs, gambling, social media, gaming and other behavioural addictions.

Eden House is the first site to open within Priory's new Flourish programme of residential addiction treatment services, developed in response to an escalating addiction crisis across the UK.

Unlike traditional inpatient hospital programmes, it is purely therapy-led, without the need for a medical detox, and offers a modern alternative to 12-step-only models.

With pricing from £4,200 for 14 days, Flourish is more accessible than traditional 28-day inpatient treatment programmes, in line with Priory’s commitment to deliver affordable, flexible pathways to addiction recovery.

The service offers earlier intervention and aims to prevent people reaching crisis point or needing hospital admission.

“We know there are thousands of people across the UK struggling with addiction who either can’t access or don’t feel ready for hospital treatment – Flourish bridges that gap, giving more people the chance to recover earlier and rebuild their lives,” explained Priory chief executive Rebekah Cresswell.

Addiction doesn’t happen overnight, and those affected by it should not have to reach crisis point for the help they need. Flourish is about meeting people earlier and helping them to change their path.

Steve Clarke, Priory’s managing director for residential addiction services, said: “Flourish is a bold new chapter for Priory. By blending the best in therapy expertise with innovative technology and a modern approach, we are creating a space where recovery feels relevant, human and achievable for many more people.”

Flourish clients will have access to innovative new tools such as:

  • Virtual reality exposure therapy, recreating high-risk real-world situations in a safe environment to help them build resilience and reduce relapse risk.
  • Recovery 360, Priory’s new digital recovery platform which provides support beyond residential care.

The launch coincides with Priory’s new national campaign, Break the Chain, which raises awareness of the impact of intergenerational addiction and encourages people to seek help before reaching crisis point.

The campaign highlights that one in six people in the UK say someone in their family is currently living with addiction, yet most have not received professional support. More information can be found at www.priorygroup.com/breakthechain

Flourish services such as Eden House are designed to complement Priory’s existing hospital-based programmes and align with local prevention and community health strategies, with plans already in place to launch further sites nationwide.
