Priory welcomed Claire Armstrong, Director for Adult Social Care at the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), along with other DHSC representatives including economic advisors and data scientists, to Carlton House near Leeds last week (Tuesday, 14 October).

The visit included a tour of the site, meetings with staff and residents and discussions covering data collection and safeguarding, recruitment and workforce development, key risk factors across adult social care, local authority partnerships and how service provision is determined.
Carlton House provides care for working-age adults with autism, learning disabilities, complex care needs, and mild to moderate challenging behaviours.
Adam Paver-Merrison, Priory Adult Care Operations Director for North Central, said: “We were delighted to host Claire and the DHSC team. The visit was a valuable opportunity to contribute to the national conversation on the future of adult social care, share best practice, highlight challenges and opportunities and discuss where improvements could be made across the system.”
Priory continues to work closely with government, local authorities and the wider health and social care system partners to support improvements in working-age adult social care and ensure that people with complex needs receive the care and support they need.
