Priory Lansdowne Road, a Leicester care home supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, has been rated ‘Good’ following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Inspectors found the service was performing well across all five key areas: ‘safe’, ‘effective’, ‘caring’, ‘responsive’ and ‘well-led’. The home supports up to 26 residents, providing personalised care that promotes choice, dignity and independence.
Those living at Lansdowne Road spoke positively about their experience, telling inspectors they felt safe, listened to and well supported by staff who knew them well.
I really like it here. I feel safe, and all of the staff really understand me.” Relatives also shared positive feedback, with one commenting: “I cannot praise them enough. From senior management to carers, they have been brilliant and never gave up.
The report highlighted the home’s focus on promoting independence, with residents encouraged to develop everyday living skills such as cooking, laundry and managing their own routines, either independently or with staff support.
Residents were supported to access healthcare, attend appointments and maintain close links with family and friends.
Inspectors observed a relaxed and friendly atmosphere within the home, with staff described as kind, caring and respectful in their interactions, and saying they felt valued and supported whilst enjoying a positive working culture.
