Priory has launched a new, first-of-its-kind online programme designed to help people manage exam-related stress and anxiety.
Starting on 1 May 2025, the two-week workshops are open to students aged 18 and over, including those studying for A-levels and at university.
Developed and delivered by experienced Priory therapists, the workshops take a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)-informed approach to help students better understand the root causes of exam stress and build practical coping strategies.
The programme will involve an initial 30-minute one-to-one session with a therapist to tailor individual goals and two one-hour sessions each week on weekdays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
There will be four core workshops focusing on psychoeducation around anxiety and stress, grounding techniques, worry management and relapse prevention to learn how to cope with future challenges.
This innovative programme will provide a unique opportunity for students to explore shared experiences and build long-term emotional resilience in a structured and confidential setting.
The workshops coincide with the 2025 A-level exam season, which runs from 12 May to 24 June.
Recent data highlights the urgency of such support, with a survey by SaveMyExams finding that 85% of UK students experience exam anxiety and 71% suffering in silence without seeking help.
Paula Bosha, clinical lead at Priory, said: "Exam stress can significantly affect a student's mental wellbeing, impacting sleep, their performance, concentration and self-confidence. It can leave people feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and alone in their struggles.
“Our new workshops are designed to provide both immediate relief and lasting skills by focusing on challenging negative thinking, improving exam preparation and building lifelong coping strategies.
“The power of the group also means students can connect with others facing similar challenges in a safe and trusting environment, helping them to feel supported and understood."
The programme is priced at £195 and is available to self-paying individuals. To register or for more information, contact 0800 840 3219 or email [email protected].
