Priory Non-Executive Director Heather Tierney-Moore OBE has been appointed as a patron of Cavell.
Cavell provides grants, advice and a listening ear to nurses, midwives, nursing associates and maternity support workers looking to take charge of their finances and feel more in control.
Heather was one of the first Macmillan breast cancer nurses in the UK before moving into senior leadership roles at provider, regional and national levels in the NHS in England and Scotland.
In addition to her Non-Executive Director role at Priory, she is also Chair of NHS Supply Chain, which manages the sourcing, delivery and supply of healthcare products, services and food for the NHS across England and Wales.
“It’s a huge honour to be a Cavell patron,” she said. “When I started out years ago as a student nurse, I could never have imagined I’d be in this position.
“I’m truly looking forward to helping shine a light on the immensely valuable work Cavell does to support nurses and midwives, especially during times of personal or professional crisis.
“I hope to ensure that Edith Cavell’s legacy of compassion, courage, and commitment to care remains at the heart of the charity’s mission and continues to inspire future generations of nurses and midwives.”
