Priory has been shortlisted in three categories at the prestigious LaingBuisson Awards 2025: Hospital Group of the Year, Excellence in Specialist Care, and Excellence in Supported Living.

The awards celebrate outstanding contributions to health and social care, reflecting Priory’s progress and innovation across its hospitals, residential and community services.

Priory is the largest independent provider of mental health, addiction and adult social care services in the UK, supporting more than 26,000 people annually across 270 sites.

Working with more than 200 NHS partners, local authorities and private medical insurers, Priory delivers person-centred, evidence-based care which is focused on recovery and independence.

Highlights from 2024–25 include:

  • Quality: 87% of services rated ‘Good’ or better by regulators, with zero inadequate ratings –significantly above the sector average for comparable services
  • Outcomes: 86% of acute patients and 89% of residents in specialist services reported improved mental wellbeing, while family satisfaction reached 94%
  • Innovation: Rollout of the Nourish digital care system in adult care released 184,000 staff hours, redirected to frontline support
  • Specialist pathways: Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), tailored for learning disabilities and autism, has halved placement breakdowns since 2019
  • Lived experience: The Lived Experience Partnership Strategy saw 17 partners shape 39 strategic projects in just three months
  • Workforce: Record 78% staff engagement, lowest staff turnover rate since 2018, (21.8% rolling 12-month turnover) 192 Freedom to Speak Up champions, and more than 580 apprenticeships supported

Priory chief executive Rebekah Cresswell said: “To be shortlisted in three categories is an incredible achievement and testament to the dedication of all our colleagues across Priory

“Over the past year we have invested in innovation, strengthened partnerships and, most importantly, delivered care that helps people live more fulfilling lives.  We are also breaking out into a new service line of residential addictions.

“I am proud that our commitment to excellence – in hospitals, specialist services and supported living – has been recognised nationally at a time when the health and social care sector is under real pressure.”

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 20 November 2025.
