- New system saved clinicians more than 10,000 hours in 18 months, enabling them to spend more time supporting patients
- Software rollout helped mental health staff to enter data into multiple systems through one single entry
- The technology – called Mulesoft Anypoint – is a finalist at the Health Tech Awards 2023
An innovation which has saved thousands of hours for mental healthcare clinicians by reducing time spent on data entry tasks, giving them additional time to treat and care for patients, has been shortlisted for the annual Health Tech Awards.
The new technology enables medical professionals to enter patient information across multiple different systems simultaneously based on one entry.
The system saved staff at Priory more than 10,000 hours - or 261 full working weeks - in just 18 months. Priory is the UK’s largest independent provider of mental health and rehabilitation services.
The technology, called Mulesoft Anypoint, is shortlisted as a finalist in the Health Tech Awards in the ‘Best Solution for Clinicians’ and ‘Best Use of Data’ categories.
Alex Ares, IT Projects Director at Priory, said: “Ultimately, this is having a very positive impact on our patients. It is giving our healthcare teams more time to invest in the people we support, and so is better helping our service users to live their lives.
“The software enables interoperability between legacy healthcare systems. It makes it easier to drive standardisation across healthcare data exchange, and to provide information to clinicians from a wide variety of devices including computers, mobile phones, and tablets. It has enabled us to integrate rostering, procurement, patient administration, risk management and e-prescribing systems. We’re continuing to roll this technology out and will see more benefits to come.”
The Health Tech Awards help to share and celebrate digital teams, programmes, innovations and health tech suppliers that have made a difference throughout the year. The digital awards ceremony takes place on 12 October 2023.
