At Priory, we believe that understanding yourself better is always a positive step forward. Whether you’re simply curious about your experiences or wondering if things like autism or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) might be affecting how you think, feel or interact, we’re here to help you start that journey.

We offer quick, confidential online screening tools for people who are looking to gain some initial insight into whether their experiences might be linked to a neurodivergent condition, as well as in-depth professional assessments for anyone ready to take things further.

Try a quick, online neurodiversity screening test

Our free ADHD and autism online screening tests are quick, private and easy-to-use tools designed to help you explore common neurodivergent traits and patterns, and offer some initial insight into whether it might be helpful to look into a full neurodiversity assessment.

You can also use them to explore conditions that sometimes overlap with neurodiversity, such as depression, anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).

There’s no need to book an appointment or talk to anyone — your results are available instantly and kept completely private. Our screening tools are ideal for anyone who’s curious, feeling unsure or just starting to explore the possibility of being neurodivergent.

When should someone consider a neurodiversity assessment?

If you’ve been finding certain aspects of life more challenging - whether that’s in work, relationships, or just day-to-day routines - it might be worth considering a neurodiversity assessment.

Many people get an assessment after experiencing things like burnout, difficulties with focus or organisation, feeling overwhelmed in social situations, or a long-standing sense of being ‘different’ without really knowing why.

Some people might feel as though they’re masking their true selves, struggling with regulating their emotions, or feeling exhausted by things that seem easier for other people. These experiences can sometimes be signs of neurodivergent traits, such as those associated with autism or ADHD.

If any of this feels familiar, know that you’re not alone and it’s completely OK to explore things at your own pace. There’s no right or wrong reason to want to understand yourself better.

For many people, an assessment can bring clarity, helping you to make sense of past experiences and offering a way forward. It can also open up access to practical support, such as reasonable adjustments at work or school, and support your overall mental wellbeing.

Book a professional neurodiversity assessment

If you or your child are ready to take the next step, Priory offers professional assessments for a range of neurodivergent profiles, including autism and ADHD. We also assess for conditions that sometimes overlap with neurodivergent traits - such as OCD, anxiety and depression.

The assessment process starts with a confidential enquiry, followed by a thorough, personalised evaluation with one of our experienced professionals. This may involve structured interviews, questionnaires and other tools to help us understand how you or your child experience the world. After the assessment, we’ll provide clear feedback and, where appropriate, a diagnosis - along with advice on next steps and any support that may be helpful.

All assessments are delivered by qualified clinicians in a supportive, confidential and non-judgemental setting, where you or your child will be treated with care and respect. Our clinicians follow National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines when conducting assessments, and use a multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach.

What happens after an assessment?

After your assessment, you’ll receive a clear and detailed outcomes report. This includes any diagnoses (where relevant), as well as personalised recommendations based on your individual needs and experiences. Whether you're seeking clarity for yourself or your child, this report can be an important first step towards understanding and moving forward.

At Priory, support doesn’t stop with an assessment. We offer a range of follow-up options, including therapy and structured psychological support pathways in the form of:

  • Ongoing autism support - tailored to different needs, this could involve building social understanding, managing anxiety or developing emotional regulation skills
  • A full ADHD treatment pathway - that may include social skills development, talking therapies, behavioural coaching and, where appropriate, medication reviews with one of our specialists
  • 1:1 therapy that incorporates a skills and strengths-based approach to neurodiversity

You don’t need to have everything figured out straight away. If you're unsure what support might be right for you, we’re here to help guide you. You can speak to our team at any time after your assessment to discuss your options. Whether you’re looking for practical tools, emotional support or a longer-term therapy plan, we’re here to provide ongoing care in a way that works for you.
