- Keats Ward – a medium secure ward providing care and treatment for up to 15 male adult patients

Our aim and approach
Our aim is to support all of our patients through a developed care pathway using the recovery approach. Our patients are at the centre of what we do and they co-produce their own treatment plans with us. We ensure that patients receive the best possible experience possible and we enable them to function at their optimum level by providing the skills necessary for greater independence.
One-to-one psychological therapy sessions provide support and counselling so that patients can work collaboratively with their team to address their behaviour and risk and prepare for re-engagement into the community. In addition, we offer a range of evidence-based group therapies targeted to address risk-related behaviours and to promote recovery, with approaches informed by:
- Mentalisation-based treatment (MBT)
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
- Schema therapy
- Motivational interviewing
- Cognitive analytic therapy (CAT)
- Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT)
The environment
We believe that the environment in which our therapy takes place, is just as important as the treatment itself. Our extensive facilities give patients every opportunity to retain and learn skills which will help them to recover and reintegrate into the community when it is appropriate. Our environment and facilities include:
- Fitness room
- Occupational therapy kitchen
- Games and leisure room
- Courtyard and grounds access for sports and exercise
- Computer suite including Microsoft Works and supervised internet access
- Local transport links including bus services, and links to underground and over-ground rail
- Community resources
