Our Recovery College courses at Kemple View offer our patients the opportunity to build skills in a wide range of areas, including self-management, communication, team working, emotional intelligence and problem solving.

The Recovery College is an environment where you can discover your potential and develop your skills to achieve your goals. It complements any therapeutic programme you may be involved in and has an educational life skills focus.

Recovery College at Kemple View

Our Recovery College courses at Kemple View fall within five key areas:

  • Practical skills – these classes provide the opportunity for students to develop a variety of practical skills, ranging from maintaining a home through to developing work skills
  • Life skills – these courses are designed to support students to develop a range of skills around independent living
  • Employment skills – these workshops will support students to recognise their work skills and attitudes, and develop confidence to apply for work opportunities
  • Health awareness – these courses are designed to promote students’ awareness of physical and mental wellbeing. Courses will provide education relating to specific health issues
  • Leisure/hobbies – within these classes, students are encouraged to explore new leisure and recreational activities. These activities will help to structure the week and give meaning and value to leisure time

If you would like to be involved in delivering Recovery College courses, then you can complete our ‘Train the Trainer’ workshop to become one of our tutors. Also, remember to attend the monthly Recovery College meetings to share your ideas.
