The Recovery College is facilitated and run by key members within our occupational therapy teams. These individuals are involved in running current and upcoming courses.
Sam Hogg, Basic Skills Teacher and Recovery College Lead
Sam works at Burston House across all three wards, and also at our rehabilitation site, Lombard House. Sam delivers a range of educational sessions, as well as a number of Recovery College courses including cooking from scratch, employment skills and wellbeing.
Kelly Nevin, Basic Skills Teacher and Recovery College Lead
Kelly works at St John’s House across all four wards, and also at our rehabilitation site, Richmond House. Kelly delivers a range of educational sessions and a number of Recovery College courses such as employment skills, basic maths, snack workshops, and project groups.
Jackie Lawrence, Occupational Therapist
Jackie is a new and welcomed member of the team, based on Kestrel Ward at Burston House. Jackie is keen to be involved with Recovery College moving forwards.

Darren Parr, Technical Instructor
Darren works across three wards at Burston House. He is involved in delivering a range of activities and Recovery College courses including art, wellbeing and animal care.
Andrew Pond, Occupational Therapy Assistant
Andrew works across three wards at Burston House, as well as our rehabilitation site, Richmond House. Andrew delivers a range of activities and Recovery College courses such as animal care, looking after your teeth and cooking from scratch.
David Bullman, Technical Instructor
David works across three wards at Burston House and also our rehabilitation site, Lombard House. David delivers a range of activities and Recovery College courses such as woodwork, bird watching, practical skills and photography.
Ashley Smith, Occupational Therapy Assistant and Gym Instructor
Ashley works across all four wards at St John’s House, delivering a range of activities and gym/fitness sessions, including snack workshops. Mission Fit is being re-launched at St John’s House and Ashley will be involved in delivering this, alongside our Clinical Nurse Specialist, Claire Steward.
Rachel Chester, Occupational Therapy Assistant
Rachel works across all four wards at St John’s House, delivering a range of activities such as photography, cooking and a culture club.
Daisy Middleton, Occupational Therapy Assistant
Daisy works on the medium secure ward, Redgrave, and is involved in delivering a range of Recovery College courses and daily living skills.
Becki Knights, Occupational Therapy Assistant
Becki works within the low secure men’s service at Burston House
