About

Anna is a highly experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist and a registered member of both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals (FDAP). She specialises in helping people facing issues grounded in addiction, anxiety, depression and low self-esteem, and is experienced in and available to work across a wide variety of mental health concerns beyond these specialisms.

A Masters in Psychodynamic Therapy from the University of London provides a thorough basis upon which Anna has built, with further training in mentalisation treatment, trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and group work. Anna aims to provide a tailored service with a psychodynamic grounding to her patients. She is passionate about taking a collaborative approach to therapy, and empowering you to process your experiences and the feelings they prompt. By acknowledging real world experiences, including the impact of influences like trauma, gender identity, cultural or social background, the rich context of your world can inform the therapy as intrinsic elements of your life and self.

Anna joined Priory in 2022, and also works with long-term patients within an NHS complex needs secondary care service. Her work is based in acceptance, empathy and understanding, with an emphasis on developing a good working alliance. In psychodynamic work, the relationship that develops between therapist and patient is used to gain insight into unconscious relationship patterns that have evolved since your childhood. As the process of change takes place, awareness of the power of your unconscious to influence feelings or behaviour grows, allowing you to become better able to control your actions and responses.
