About

John has worked in the addiction field since 1997, in a variety of residential and community-based settings, in the UK and South Africa. He has also been partly responsible for project implementation and delivery.

John is in his own personal recovery from alcohol dependency and has a working knowledge of the 12-step and associated recovery models, including CBT and skilled helper roles. John has also been responsible for writing group work programmes on-site, to meet clients’ needs.

John’s other responsibilities have included the training and supervision of volunteers.

Position at Priory

John has been an addiction therapist at Priory Altrincham, since July 2016, and covers the lead and deputy lead in possible absences.

He also delivers educational and didactic style lectures as well as working one-to-one with a variety of addictions and has BACP affiliation and regular personal clinical supervision.
