About

Therapy provides a unique opportunity for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions. Laura will be engaged in helping you to uncover what informs the ways you find yourself relating to situations in your life. She will offer perspectives, but these do not come from a place of knowing, but curiosity. She will be alongside you in staying close to what is being experienced, allowing the unseen to be revealed.

Laura is an integrative therapist, which means she has been trained in humanistic, psychodynamic and existential approaches. She has experience of working with many issues such as anxiety, self-esteem issues, anger, stress, depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement, trauma, abuse, addiction as well as unexplained feelings of being stuck or lost.

Laura’s advanced training in existential psychotherapy informs her approach. This often involves exploring what it means to each of us to live as a human. With Laura, you will have the opportunity to explore and consider different aspects of your life. This includes how you make meaning from the world around you, including how past experiences inform your present as well as the different relationships you establish. This can facilitate clarity and raise awareness of your life experience, which can in turn have a positive effect on all areas of your life by opening the possibility of change.

Through existential analysis and phenomenological inquiry, Laura will seek to understand your unique way of being in the world, through connecting with your subjective experiences. Laura’s approach advocates connection and the therapeutic relationship as pivotal in bringing about understanding and any desired changes. Therefore, there is at times, a relational element to her practice, which involves, when appropriate, paying attention the responses you have to her as well as those she has to you during the therapeutic experience. Through this curiosity, new understanding and meaning can be revealed that may shed light on situations outside of the therapy space.
