About

I specialise in working with families, couples and individuals who are experiencing challenges with communicating their needs and being open and honest with their support network. A big part of the work I do involves exploration around the impact of lifecycle transitions (births, deaths, migration, marriage, divorce), hereditary patterns and family scripts (generational patterns of pride and shame) as well as neurodevelopmental diagnoses (autism and attention deficit hyperactive disorder).

My preferred therapeutic approaches include narrative therapy, family script and attachment therapy, and brief solution-focused therapy. I aim to provide a therapeutic environment that is safe, curious and structured. I aim to help empower disempowered voices, and to bring forth and support conversation around the relevant systems in peoples’ lives - be that gender, race, religion, or culture. The overall aim of my work is to help family members better understand and support one another through the process of communication, with a co-created family therapy goal in mind.

I aim to be kind and authentic. Whilst I will listen and be respectful to the story each person brings to the therapy room, I will also offer gentle interruptions or challenges to keep each voice heard and to maintain the direction of our co-created family therapy goal. I am interested in what brings people meaning in life and take joy in thinking about how this meaning can be collaboratively achieved.
