About

Seyf is a doctoral counselling psychologist and cognitive behavioural psychotherapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). Over the last years, Seyf has gained extensive clinical experience whilst working with children, adults, couples, families and groups within a range of settings. These include Priory, the NHS, prison services, charities, private sector and through his own private practice. Seyf’s practice is informed by an integrative theoretical framework, which includes cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), schema therapy, existential therapies, psychodynamic therapy, psychoanalytic therapy and person-centred therapy (PCT). He also uses and third wave approaches, including mindfulness, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and compassion focused therapy (CFT).
We may find that opening up to a stranger, facing our fears, or admitting that we’re not coping as well as we would like to be, is one of the most challenging things in our lives. However, for many people, therapy is the greatest personal investment, as it could help them to gain an understanding of themselves and be able to find the support needed to lead a fulfilling life.
Seyf’s approach as a therapist is warm, non-judgemental and empathetic. Seyf recognises the importance of the therapeutic relationship and aims to nurture one of safety, compassion and acceptance, in which a sensitive understanding of your reason for seeking therapy can be developed. Seyf’s multicultural background gives him insight into the diverse needs of others and enables him to effectively communicate this to all clients, including clients from minority backgrounds.
The decision to seek psychological help can be challenging. However, this process gives you the opportunity to explore your difficulties and learn coping skills that will enable you to shift the perception of your experience. This will ultimately encourage your capacity to grow and embrace life in a more fulfilling and creative manner.
Seyf specialises in relationship challenges, emotionally unstable personality disorder (EUPD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), mood disorders and anxiety disorders.
