About

Dr Aboelenien has expertise in treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions with over 19 years of experience. She is currently working in the NHS as a general adult consultant and working at Priory as a visiting consultant offering private treatment.

Within the NHS, she has a range of responsibilities. She has been involved in several service improvement projects and audits within the NHS and won the best poster prize at the Royal College of Psychiatrists Eastern Division conference in 2022. She has been actively engaged in research projects and assumed the role of the research representative for Essex Partnership University NHS Trust (EPUT) 3 years ago. Her dedication extends to mentoring trainees interested in research, as well as supervising Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) medical students in their literature review endeavours.
She is also involved in research and teaching roles within NHS and with the ARU school of medicine.

Training

Dr Aboelenien is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych). She has a dual certificate of completion of training (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry and also in Rehabilitation Psychiatry in the UK. She is on the specialist register of the General Medical Council (GMC).

After finishing the basic medical qualification (MBBCh), she completed a post-graduate qualification in Neurology and Psychiatry (MSc). During the course of her training, she completed a post-graduate certificate in Health and Medical Education in Hertfordshire.

  • 2021 - Feasibility study: Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) in improving the engagement and management of forensic patients within a secure hospital. I was involved in seeking ethical approval by submitting IRAS form and currently in a stage of applying for funds approval.
